Do you think we will discover life outside of our planet in our lifetime?

Andy Weir I don't want to be a downer, but I seriously doubt it. I'd love to be wrong. But I don't think humanity will find extraterrestrial live until waaaaay in the future when we have interstellar travel. And I don't think we'll ever invent faster-than-light travel, either, so it'll be a slow process.

We *might* find evidence of past life though. And even that would be pretty amazing.

Are you as smart the main character in real life? And have you ever had the experience of someone challenging you over the accuracy the "science" in the book? I personally don't know one way or the other, but I image there would be someone out there who would take the time to check your facts. Great book either way!
