How do you get inspired to write?

Cate Ray I light a candle, get a large cup of coffee (a cliche, I know... but it works!) and I begin. I don't wait for inspiration to strike or I'd be waiting all day. Writing is a job like anything else and you wouldn't wait for inspiration in any other office job (you'd probably get fired if you tried it!) Most of the time it's about knuckling down. However, I'll add that having as few distractions as possible is really helpful. So sometimes it's a case of putting the phone out of reach, pulling the curtains, wearing headphones - whatever it takes!
