Would you please talk a bit about how Mark's reflection reveals things about how we imagine technology and ecology together?

Andy Weir I didn't have any deeper meaning there. It was just a joke intended to make the reader chuckle.

Ecology and environmental tech are sciences like any other. They'll advance as we move forward like all our other scientific pursuits will.
