Hi Mr. Khorram! I absolutely loved Darius the Great Is Not Okay and am about to start Darius the Great Deserves Better. I was wondering how long it usually takes you to finish writing a book (such as Darius the Great Is Not Okay), and what do you find to be the most challenging when it comes to writing? (P.S. I'm also from the KC area and can't get over the fact that an author I love is too!)

Hi there fellow Kansas Citian!! Thank you so much. A first draft usually takes me 3-4 months; and editing a novel usually takes me about a year (which includes breaks where I'm not working because my editor is reading it).
As far as the most challenging part of writing—in some ways, it's whatever part I'm working on right now that always feels the most challenging. If I'm revising—revising is the hardest. If I'm writing an ending—writing endings is hardest. But looking at the pattern of my work, I'd say overall middles are the most challenging for me.
Thanks for your question!

Totally loved your book & your writing . Valuable book. Thank you for sharing what it means to have depression (me too), no friends (me too), to be excluded (me too) and always feel "other." Also appreciate your showing us Americans another side of Iran, immigrants, identity and family. Hope lots and lots of young adults & adults read this. I cried near the end. Do you know where?

I just finished Darius The Great Deserves Better (Loved it) and in the end you mentioned you went back to Darius because you felt like he had more to say. Do you think he has more to say? Is there a possibility for a third book or do you think that Darius has gotten everything off his chest? I personally would like to one read a resolution for Landon, he was my favorite character. (Love a man that can cook)
