Lauren asked Christine Feehan:

You’ve said you only write a novel when a character speaks to you. When you do the actual writing, do you plan the storyline / write an outline in advance, or create the story as you’re writing?

Christine Feehan I do have the overall story arc for the series in mind as a rule. Sometimes I'll be surprised by something, but the series arc is something I'll have an idea about in advance. How we get through that arc and with what characters is what I wait to see unfold, just like the readers do. I don't outline a story. I write it as it comes to me.
