What's the hardest part of being an author and the best?

Shannon Messenger The hardest part--for me--are the deadlines. Mostly because I write rather long books, so it can be VERY challenging keeping up with everything. There are many nights I'm up till 3am or later trying to catch up.

But it's all worth it thanks to the best part, which is getting to have people read my stories. Seeing readers care about my characters just as much as I do is pretty much the best thing ever! :)
