when do you know what characters are going to be in your next book? The night before....? And do they speak to you through the whole process?

Great question!
Some characters speak to me for months. Some for years. Some shove forward and are both loud and persistent. Some will be very loud and then just go silent. It's a mixed bag. I know who it will be once I start writing.
I do have secondary characters try to push forward and it's evident that someday they'll have their own book.

Do you know when your next GhostWalker book will be released? Of all your series, that is my favorite. I come from a military family. My husband, all my brothers, and many extended relatives have or are serving. The way you portray the dedication not only to our country but to the people who serve with them is so true. Also the way you incorporate the women working with the men to also serve and protect is awesome!
