C.L. Taylor
I wanted to write a book about female friendships, particularly the female friendships you have in your twenties. Your friends are your family, they support you through everything but there are often cracks in those friendships - resentment that has built up over the years, unspoken competitiveness and petty jealousy. Often those issues aren't voiced, they're pushed down and ignored for the sake of keeping harmony in the friendship group. I started to wonder...what if a group of female friends with hidden issues in their friendships were put in a dangerous situation? Would they pull together or would the cracks in their friendship make them turn against each other? The result was THE LIE.

Why is it, the best authors seem to be publishing, before I have finished reading the books they previously published!!!? Desperate to read The Lie, but in the middle of two others by other favourite authors. Not enough time in the day to read unfortunately. Really loved The Accident. Good luck with it. Cant wait to read it.

Hi, Firstly; I think its amazing that you take the time to reply to messages here. I have really enjoyed reading "The Escape" and "The Missing" and am about to get started on "The Lie" :) My question is... How did you get into writing? How do you begin the process of writing a novel? Do you have any advice for someone who wants to write, but doesn't know where to begin!? Thanks, Anna

Hi! I really enjoyed reading "The lie". Both me and a co-worker highly recommend it to customers in the bookstore we work in. "The lie" is now getting published in Norwegian, and I was just wondering if you knew if any of your other books will get translated as well?
Also wondering about something else. Did the right person "burn" for this in "The lie"? Or did she sit in the car, pretending to be knocked out?
