Whatever you do, don't give up. Write a lot. Even if you think it's awful, write anyway. That's what editing is for. Keep writing and reading a lot. Especially the genre you're writing about. You can learn a lot that way. Also, join some Facebook groups for writers. A lot of great tips and help if you need it.
