Zoe
Zoe asked Veronica Roth:

How did you come up with the concept of Poster Girl? (And Chosen Ones if you're up to answer). I love how unique these stories are; they aren't the typical dystopian, but rather the story that takes place after the common dystopian storylines.

Veronica Roth I'm glad you like them! The answer to your question is basically just what you said: I think a lot about the stories that take place "after," or in between, or the ones we don't tell for whatever reason. Maybe I've started to think that way because there are a lot of prequels floating around, whether to books or to TV shows or movies, and that naturally makes me think about what order we tell stories in, why certain narratives come first, and whether exploring the aftermath can be fruitful in new ways. That line of thinking is really where Poster Girl (and Chosen Ones!) came from.
