I wonder how much interest Miles is taking in his half-sisters and one third (?) brothers, since they are so far away physically and so different in age. I have had several friends with siblings and half siblings far away physically and/or chronologically and they run the gamut from being very close, to being cordial acquaintances, to being essentially strangers.

With 9 to choose from, I'd imagine there'd be a wide range of relationships possible. A more cousinly relationship would be likely between Cordelia and Jole's kids and Miles's. They'd likely see each other once, maybe twice a year, depending on travels; about what you'd get between cousins living in different distant states. But Miles would be functionally more uncle than brother.
(Cordelia's girls are full sisters to Miles, Jole's boys are half-brothers and some mitochondrial change. They are all aunts and uncles to Miles's kids, all younger than their nieces and nephews, doubtless the source of many family jokes.)

Hi Lois, I've just started reading your Vorkosigan books (only 2 so far) but I absolutely love them. I'm the type of person that really enjoys looking up the reading order of long series and tackling them as the author intended, I've read your recommendation here on goodreads and appreciate the clarification from you. I have a 2 part question (EDIT character limit please see following separate messages)?

Hi. I am one of your fans that live south of the Twin Cities. I have been hoping to go to one of your book signings for a while, but I don't see a listing for them. I have "just missed" your last 2 around here. Do you have a list published or could you tell me where you are going to be soon? Thank you. Am a big fan of your Vorkosigan series. Miles reminds me of a younger version of a Navy officer I used to work
