Hi Jerry. I heard tell that C.S. Lewis had a hard time shedding Screwtape even after writing The Screwtape Letters. How long did it take you to get over Nicolae after the Left Behind series was finished? Did your wife know who you were working with, depending on your mood on a given day? Relating to so many characters must've been like a really busy one-man play.

I'm not a moody guy and never had characters haunt me. I dealt more with subtle spiritual attacks, like fatigue and niggling health issues, despite that I was taking care of myself. I was reminded that the enemy attacks when you're battling on the front lines.

Have you ever been in the studio when the LB dramatic audio stories were recorded? I just listened to the end scene from Nicolae, where Ray tells Carpathia to .."SHUT-UP! Carpathia, you have JUST seen the WRATH of the LAMB! " STELLAR! VOICE sells it. Wonder if Roger Mueller was a bit spooked. I know I was.
