During the time you were writing The Troop, did you tend to get freaked out when you had to step away from your computer and deal with "the real" world? (As in did shadows and ordinary noises all seem menacing?)

Good question, Jen. Not really. I think I get freaked out more by other people's writing than my own. That's kind of because, writing your own book, you know where things are going. The scenes, what's going to happen down the road to this character or that one. As a reader, you don't know. You're worried or scared or kept in suspense. So I get that feeling reading other people's work, but not so much with my own.

Hi! I am in the very beginning stages of writing a pilot for a TV show im creating and eventually would like to write a novel and at the moment but because of how much stuff i'm dealing with, my creative mojo is extremely stunted. Any advice on how to reignite that force? oh and i loved the troop by the way. I am a huge horror fan and that book made my skin crawl. Cant wait for the deep!

Loved the Troop. I was in the Boy Scouts but worst think I got was laryngitis… there’s an idea for a new novel :) The Troop was based out of P.E.I, I’m from Newfoundland, lived in Toronto now live in Nova Scotia so when I picked up the Troop and read it was based in P.E.I… that sold me to get it. Will you be writing more books based on other areas of Canada? A loyal reader
