Goodreads asked Coreene Callahan:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Coreene Callahan WRITE. Every day. It's not easy to do, but when your just starting out or are striving to be published, it's important to hone your craft. Writing every day will help you find your writing rhythm and flow while teaching you what makes a story great. Practice may not make perfect, but it sure helps.

And READ a lot. Whether you know it or not, you're learning about writing while you read. There's a process of osmosis that goes on when you read that will help you intuit what makes a book good and what makes a book not so great. So when you sit down to write your own story, you'll invariably apply those lessons to your own stories.
