Lynsay Sands Gees, I'm not sure. I usually send these questions to my editor when they're sent in emails. I'm guessing that at the very least she'd have to take English at college or University. But if she really wants to know, I'd suggest writing to an editor or attending one of their chats (I know my editor has done a couple) and asking them how to go about it.
