As someone who came to literary fame by virtue of his war writing, how do you see your war experiences continuing to influence either the tone, theme, or subject matter of your future work?

Hey! Good question. Honestly, I think my post war experience has more of an influence on my writing than anything else. The experience of war I think allows one to view the world in a slightly differently lens than say a civilian who did not experience war, and I think the experience of the military and a combat deployment will forever effect and influence any and perhaps all future work both consciously and subconsciously. How could it not?
