Penric can get water from the air, and also turn it to ice. I wonder what else? Purify seawater (any advantage over air?)? Concentrate alcoholic drinks (like winter wine but faster)? Separate water into hydrogen and oxygen (for what purpose?)? Weld objects together (maybe not just metals)? Heat food like a microwave oven, or freeze it? Nuclear fission, probably not. Nuclear fusion, surely not.

Good questions. Purify seawater, sure; it just needs evaporated and condensed, tho' if one is in/by the sea, the air should be damp enough to skip step one. Ice wine, yes. Break down water molecules, not sure. Heating/cooling/cooking, maybe on a very small scale. (Mustn't overheat the sorcerer!) He would of course have to deal with the waste heat/waste chaos.
If science advances in this world, a very open question, I'm sure Pen would follow along and try to work out even more clever sorcery as insights emerge.

Hello, Lois! Tried to the best of my ability to search through the 724 questions which you have answered already, but.. got bored. So here are my thanks for your work (I am hard pressed to add an adjective here, "extraordinary", "life-changing" or "life-saving" all not quite what I mean) and my question: did you choose Grover Gardner for the audiobooks, or was it some sort of coincidence?Or did he choose you?Thank you

Hi, trying to track down where to buy The flowers of Vashnoi as an epub. Baen, where I normally buy books, doesn't have it. Lots of the usual suspects offering pseudo illegal or illegal copies but no one apart from Amazon and they only do kindle. Can you point me to a reputable seller? Cheers Paul
