Skye asked Rick Riordan:

What is your opinion on The Sun and The Star being put in the teen section of libraries, bookshops and anywhere else? I went to my local Waterstones today and saw The Sun and The Star in the teen section while all of your other books where in the 9 - 12 aged kids section?

Rick Riordan I don't know if there is a particular reason for that. I suppose it would depend on the library or bookstore. I am not aware of any systemic movement to shelve Sun and the Star in the teen section versus the children's section. Certainly the book is no more "teen" than any of my other novels. But also, I think it's fair to say that there is always a large number of teen and older readers picking up my books who are well beyond the 9-12 demographic. Often, those readers ask me to have my books shelved in YA or adult fiction so they don't have to feel self-conscious shopping in the kids' aisle. Perhaps that is part of the reason, but I am only speculating.
