I just finished Baby Teeth and absolutely fell in love with your writing!! I'm actually about to start Mothered. My question is, will you ever write a sequel to Baby Teeth?! It left me so many questions that needs answers!! What happens with Hanna?! What about Suzette and Alex?! Does Hanna ever come home?? Or does she stay sick forever?!

Zoje Stage Thank you, Jessica! For years I thought I would never write a sequel to Baby Teeth...but last year I got an idea on an angle to take that was of interest to me - and hopefully will be of interest to readers. So yes, I'm pleased to report there WILL be a follow-up novel to Baby Teeth! I hope to be able to announce more about that soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed your novel. As someone with Crohn's Disease, I think you did a great job of describing what it can be like to live with this chronic illness. Have you received any pushback on the way you used Crohn's Disease to make Suzette seem weak?

Having lived with IBD for well over a decade, & experiencing exactly what you wrote about- strictures, scar tissue, fistulas, biologics, etc- eventually winding up with a perm ileo- I found your description of ileostomies pretty offensive. Truthfully It's a lot nicer living with one than with a diseased colon. I'm not sure if your own personal fears colored your writing? Everything else re. IBD was spot on, but jeez..
