Laura Jaeckel
Laura Jaeckel asked Jane Green:

Your characters never appear fictional, far-fetched clichés, as so many characters of other authors in the genre of women's fiction. What is your secret to writing characters that resignate with people from our real lives? How are you able to keep your audience on the side of your characters, despite the many immoral or shameworthy actions they commit?

Jane Green I think that's the part I'm really interested in - how do you keep the audience on the side of a character who is doing awful things? I hope my characters are real enough to resonate - certainly women who have been through much of what I write about have said I have captured it, but my goal is that even if you haven't been there, you can understand how we make mistakes.
