Why while some humans have unique names like Haern, Jerico, Tarlak or Lathaar, the others have really common names coming from our own world, like Arthur, Kevin or Daniel? What was the reason of this naming system?

Couple reasons.
1: for the Paladins, they all get renamed when becoming a paladin, so they get to sound fancier and have single word names.
2: for everyone else, I tried not to go too crazy with the names of various people, especially side characters
3: I wrote 20 books over 10 years in that world, and my preferences for naming just..kinda evolved over time, lol. There's no real big specific reason to brush over that steady, gradual change in writing style :)

Hey, I’ve read all the shadow dance series and most of seraphim. I’m almost done with soul keeper and was wondering how to pronounce viciss. Everytime his name comes up my head bounces between vi-kiss and vi-siss? If it’s something else entirely that would be cool too, was just curious. Thanks for the amazing books!
