Carol Jones-Campbell
Carol Jones-Campbell asked Frances Mayes:

I've been a fan of your "Under the Tuscan Sun" and I really enjoyed the movie based on your Story. I just learned you lived in Italy, and found some good things there. I haven't read your new book yet, so it's going on my "must read" list and look forward to reading it. A well written book can be a trip, a lover, a location, a family member, a memory and so much more. What is your objective when you write a book?

Frances Mayes Bottom line---to convey the actual, felt experience of a particular moment, or period, in time. To make the writing convey to the reader the immediate sensations and feelings of the incident described.
