Does it get harder to write about Miles as he gets older, less eager to travel, more valuable to Gregor at home, and with various medical problems? Stroke history on paternal side plus seizure disorder.

Well, there's all that, plus the genre expectation for each story being more "important" than all the prior, as well as "different", which is another moving target. Easy enough when one is writing the second story of two; harder when it's the umpteenth of whatever it is by now.
(Also, much of that description of the annoyances of aging now applies to me, except, thankfully, seizure disorder.)
Should I generate a story idea fresh enough to get me excited, there is no reason I can't write, but that internal threshold has become rather high. Plus I'm drowning in new media distractions, previously unavailable or nonexistent (streaming!) which is something like going out for a dinner someone else has cooked. Reduces motivation; I don't have to run an internal television just to be fed/entertained.
So the short answer is probably "Yes."

Heard a podcast from the Progress Educational Trust in the UK, wherein five academics present on the legacy of JBS Haldane's 1923 lecture/text, Daedalus. Haldane pioneered the idea of in vitro fertilization and exo-gestation. Your exploration of these themes in the Vorkosiverse sprang to mind. Thought you might enjoy it and PET's content generally. Are you aware of them? Podcast TinyURL: https://tinyurl.com/yc7bxhru

I just purchased & downloaded Penric's Fox for my Kindle. However, Amazon showed this book as "Penric's Fox: Penric and Desdemona Book 3 [Kindle Edition]". I have already read & very much enjoyed the first 3 Penric novellas so Amazon should have listed Penric's Fox as Book 4, right? It did have the "See inside" and I could clearly see it had the text of Penric's Fox. Thanks for the Penric/Desdemona series!!

Hi Lois! Your books continue to be a great gift and companions along the journey. They have also inspired some great fanfic. One idea that is explored now and then is Gregor awarding Illyan the prefix 'Vor' upon his retirement. It would make thing with Alys easier, and I enjoy exploring the concept but I am not sure it would actually fit. Did you ever consider this, and how did you decide for or against? Merci!
