Do you bring your children to the Metropolitan Museum of Art? If so, has your perspective of any particular painting or artwork changed, having seen it through their eyes?

Sorry for the long delay in answering this! Yes, I do bring my children to the Met. I especially like to take just one child, as I find that being one-on-one with them quiets down their little soul, and we can move more slowly and deliberately. My son has an eye for Chinese art (we live in Brooklyn Chinatown, which piqued his interest) and… I don’t know that this has CHANGED my perspective, but it’s reinvigorated me in these galleries. It always pays to look at art with a child’s wonder, and this is easier to do when you have a child handy.
