Adrienne asked Michael J. Sullivan:

I read Legends, Rise and Fall, then Revelations. I noticed that in the Empire books the elves all have blue eyes (Nolyn and Sephryn having the first? green eyes), but the elves introduced in Heir of Novron have green eyes. Is this just an error in continuity or does it signify the elves in Revelations are not "pure" somehow? Also, thank you so much. I was delighted I discovered your books from my library app!

Michael J. Sullivan You are correct, at the time of Riyria there are no "pure elves" (except those across the Nidwalden where no one is allowed to go). That said, the more the bloodlines got reduced eye color becomes meaningless. For instance there are plenty of "mir" (people who are part elven part human) that have brown eyes (or even gray eyes) in the time of Riyria - and that doesn't mean they don't have "any" elven blood. It just indicates their bloodline has been significantly diluted such that they are more human then elven.
