Hello, Ms Finkbeiner! I was looking at the description of The All-American. The main character is 16 - so would that story be considered young adult? I'm interested in young adult historical fiction but it's very hard to find. Do you have any thoughts about the young adult side of that genre? Thank you! :) Cristiana

Susie Finkbeiner Hi, Cristiana! The story isn't necessarily YA, however, since the two point of view characters are young (Bertha is 16 and her sister Flossie is 11), it does crossover really well to YA readers. There isn't any content that would be inappropriate for a younger reader. As a matter of fact, my niece is 15 and has read it a few times. :) I hope you enjoy it if you choose to read it!
