How do you feel about fan theories influencing plot points or making it into books (not so much fan fiction but the hypothesizing/guessing themes for the following books)? I feel like when I was growing up reading YA fantasy and Sci-Fi, the speculation didn't happen as much as it does now. Maybe I was just younger then haha... Love your books so much, and I can't wait to read more of Percy's adventures!

Rick Riordan I don't really read fan theories, so I can't say that it ever affects my books, but fans are smart, and when they start talking together, they often come up with great theories. Sometimes, those theories are what the author thought of too. Then it seems to the readers like, "Oh, my god! The author took our idea!" When in fact it was just a logical, plausible idea and they guessed correctly which direction the author would go. Glad you've enjoyed the books!
