I have almost all of your books, and I wanted to ask, what type of book are you working on next? Will it be in a historical setting again? First, thank you for your very kind words about my writing. You've made me very happy today.
The next book will take place in 1870, so, yes, it's another historical novel. I'm basing the three main characters on three real women who lived through the events that take place in the story. There will be a lot of struggle -- as you've pointed out -- but in the end I believe it will be a story of endurance, persistence, and triumph. As of yesterday, I am on page 145.

Can you tell me more about your research into ethnic minorities for The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane? My daughter, who was adopted from China, is part of an ethnic minority group and although it's not the minority described in the book, she also has a different look and comes from a very remote part of her province. The whole book has felt so familiar to me that I wonder if you have cameras in my home!
