Susie Finkbeiner Hi, Andrea! Sorry it's taken me so long to answer your question. I hope that you know how glad I am that you read the book. Although I've not lived the adoption experience personally, I've had many friends and a few family members who were either adopted or adopted a child. The story came together in the order in which you read it. :) I switched from one perspective to the other in order to keep some themes and transitions smooth. I hope this answers your question.
