What advice would you give aspiring writers wanting to make a break In the writing field?

Tami Hoag Learn as much about the business of publishing as you can because writing the book is only half the battle. You need to be savvy about where your book will fit into the marketplace and what publishers put out the kind of book you want to write. I always say writing is an art, but publishing is a business, and working writers need to be able to straddle the two worlds.
