Hello! I just started reading Falling Away. (And I can't wait to watch K.C. pop like a little repressed balloon.) I am curious about the town this series takes place in, since I grew up in Illinois myself. Is Shelburne Falls based on a real life town? And if so, is it Rockford?

Penelope Douglas It's inspired, to some extent, after Dubuque, Iowa. Eagle Point Park, Mines of Spain...a lot of just from my imagination too.
