How long did it take you to do worldbuilding for the Eternal Sky series? :)

Elizabeth Bear That's a hard question. I wrote a now trunked and abandoned story set in what would eventually become Messaline in roughly 1996, and "Love Among the Talus" in 2006. And I'm still worldbuilding it! I keep thinking up new bits to add, or things that I need to research and extrapolate.

So, er, twenty years and counting?
