The Roman myth of "The Rape of Proserpine", also known in the Greek as Persephone and Hades story has fascinated me for a long time. The ancient story was used to explain the seasons but I always wondered what things were like from Persephone's point of view. The way I retell it brings out the "coming of age" aspect of the myth; the passage from maiden to woman.
