Many people don’t realize that some events in my books are inspired by real experiences—though I won’t say which ones! While these thrillers definitely aren’t my personal stories, I can relate to more than one of my characters. For example, one year, I got a strange message on Facebook from someone I didn’t know. They claimed to have seen me in person recently, professed their admiration, and said they’d like to see me again. The profile was empty, with no real photos or details, and I couldn’t recall any recent interactions that would match. Back when message geotags were a thing, I saw it had been sent from really close to my home. That moment definitely kept me up at night and, who knows, it might just inspire a plot someday! Now, my profiles are mostly book updates and business news—keeping it simple but safe!
