My Dad and I started reading your books in the late 1980s. His favorite character was Ivan Vorpatril. My Dad would have love Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. Have you considered writing a book where Ivan is the ambassador to Jackson Hole? Thank you for all your books over the years. I actually read Cryoburn to my Dad at his hospital bedside. I still cry when I read the dribbles at the end. Good memories.

I'm glad my books have served you and your Dad!
I do see Ivan's future career as an ambassador, following his 20-year hitch. I would expect several postings over the years, as he trains up, of increasing importance. Jackson's Whole, maybe not; there is no government to have an embassy to. Jackson's Whole needs an active and alert ImpSec department, which it has got, lately augmented by Byerly.
I'd imagine JW has an array of small Barrayaran consulates, one at each major jump-point station, that serve both commercial needs and intelligence ones. Since Barrayar is generally more interested in monitoring traffic through the Whole's local space than downside. ImpSec work downside is ad hoc, as need arises.

Does "Knife Children" put a wrap on the Sharing Knife series? I hope not. I was sad when the Vorkosigan series ended, but as much as I enjoyed it, it is the Sharing Knife series I turn to when the days get short and a cozy chair (with a blanket) is most appealing. Then I need my comfort books. I pull volume 1 off the shelf and read again how Fawn sparks new life in world-weary Dag. Such a great story.

Was Komarr recorded in multiple sessions for Audible? I listened to a lot of it w ear buds; I could discern different record levels within the same passage. It would sound like a bad "edited for content" television viewing of an R rated movie, where the swear words have a completely different sound within a sentence. :(
