Goodreads asked M.J. Logue:

What are you currently working on?

M.J. Logue Right at this minute, about two thirds of the way through a full-length Babbitt novel ("A Wilderness of Sin", set around Fairfax's south-west campaign in 1645) which sounds very sensible, and is in fact a combination of revenge tragedy and black humour. Life is turning a bit to rat-poo for Colonel Rosie Babbitt, stuck in Somerset lurking at Fairfax's shoulder and getting increasingly-irritable letters from his wife. (Who's in the process of providing him with a second sprog, but he doesn't know that.) Luce Pettitt's still writing appalling poetry, and has gone very strange indeed. And something weird happened at the end of the battle of Naseby which no one wants to tell Babbitt about, but which ended with Lieutenant Russell blinded, Trooper Gray in a state of flat panic, and Captain Chedglow with the back of his head shot off.
All this before you even consider what His Shifty Majesty might be up to in a formal military capacity.
