What's your favorite and least favorite things about being an author?

Favorite: Not having to get up at the crack of dawn to commute in bad traffic to a building and sit in a cubicle all day while other people tell me what to do.
Least favorite: Having to give up everything in my life (birthdays, dinner out, time off, hobbies, whatever) to crunch to get a book done by a deadline. I write, sleep (when I pass out), eat (as I write), use the bathroom, and that's it!
