Where did you get the idea for the Pridemates universe? You have a very interesting take on the whole shapeshifter scenario that's been popular for a number of years now, and I must say this is one of my favorite shifter series that I follow. Thanks for your multitalented authorship!

Also, I developed the Pride Mates universe by asking what would truly happen if we discovered shape-shifters were real. How would people treat them? The answer is my view in Pride Mates and the rest of the books. I didn't want the Shifters to be defeated people though--they're not! But they know how to adapt and take the good of the situation while dealing with the bad.
I also chose to limit the shifters to specific predatory species--big cats, wolves, and bears. No penguins. Also, my Shifters are born Shifters--no biting or "turning" another person. If a person is bitten by one of my Shifters, they just say "ouch!"

Hello, Ms. Ashley! I read the Riding Hard series of Riverbend and really enjoyed the individual stories and how all of the books are linked. Are there any plans to write on the women's stories that were left open at the end of Ray's books (his youngest sister and Karen)? Would love to see their stories told as well. But at any rate, thank you for an entertaining series!

I would like to know how difficult was it to think up all the MacKenzie family?Also how did you think for everyone to have such amazing personalities and yet all be happy together as one big family considering their past and hardships, each and everyone of them?
