Giving up is easy. The brave thing to do is to go after what you want, even if the path is bloody, painful and hard. You'll come up with a result that will make all of it worth your hardships.
Of course, the first draft won't always be perfect - neither will the end results and that is simply because nothing is perfect in this world.
Be hard on yourself and do not accept anything less than the best you are capable of creating. Listen to others, they give great advice. But once you think you can't do anything more to improve your work, accept that you've done your best at the time and be proud of it.
Also, do not give up on your dreams. EVER.
