So not long until June now, and I am looking forward to reading the next instalment. Meaning no disrespect, but I read a fair bit and sometimes details get muddled, I could start to re-read Valour but I know within about 10 pages I will remember virtually everything. So while the book is in editing stage is there a possibility of adding a kind previously on the Faithful and the Fallen type prologue ?

Hi Robert,
I'm so pleased to hear that you're enjoying the series so far, and looking forward to Ruin. As to your question about a 'what has gone before.' That is something that I've discussed with my editor. In the end we decided not to put one in, but instead to write markers into each characters first chapter - some reminders, flashbacks and so on, to help the reader pick things up. The trouble with a 'what has gone before' in this case is that 'The Faithful and the Fallen' is a multiple Point Of View narrative with quite a few main characters, so there is not just one straight, linear plot-line that can be written up simply. It would involve a lot of jumping around between many characters, which we thought would be a bit cold. So, sorry, there is no 'previously…' in Ruin. I hope what I've done in the opening chapters does the same job and works for you, and that it that it isn't a problem for you.
Thanks again for the question,
All the best,
John

Hi John, Hope you and your family are doing well during this crazy time. I have read all your fantasy books and am in the middle of A Time of Courage. Loving it of course. I'm considering re-reading the Faithfull and the Fallen. Looking forward to The Dragon Unchained (The Bloodsworn Saga, #1) next year. I was wondering if the length of the new book will be similar to your previous series?
