How do you get inspired to write?

Janet Kay Jensen I hear someone's story or read an article in the paper that stays in my mind. I consider it for a while and begin to develop a way to tell my version of that story, or I developa story to tell based on what I've just read. Most important, I think, is the characters who will tell the story. I draw on many sources, including literature and music and folklore and travels, to enrich the storyline as it develops.
