Well, you can see I haven't been checking Goodreads for a while! But here I am at last.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books, and I'm really happy that you're looking forward to the new one. I'm having so much fun working on it.

I have to disagree with you on your trivial question comment, however. Things are only trivial if we make them trivial.

(I just noticed that my keyboard is getting a bit greasy. I'm eating crackers and cashew butter.)

I'm reading Lady Tan, and I'd assumed the characters were using Mandarin. The main character indicates that she uses "he" to refer to a baby in the womb and this subtlety wasn't lost on her listner. However, in spoken Mandarin there is no difference in "he" and "she"; they are both "ta." The difference is only in the written character. I'm curious: is this is an oversight/mistake? And if not, how did she say "he"?
