Will we ever get a more personal look into Gunnar's love life?

Brent Hartinger This is a great question. Book #2 in the series (BAREFOOT IN THE CITY OF BROKEN DREAMS, out in August) is set in Los Angeles, and Gunnar doesn't appear. But he's definitely in book #3 again, and we will definitely see exactly who he has ended up with (but that book hasn't been written yet). It'll be out in March 2016, so I need to get cracking!
