Why did Varrin make Eris marry him even though he knew she didn't want to? Was it because he doesn't want her to turn him down? Is it because he has always gotten what he wants and is afraid he wont get it this time?

Michelle Proulx Varrin is actually going to explain his motivations about the whole marriage thing early on in Chasing Nonconformity (the sequel to Imminent Danger). It's coming out this summer, so I don't want to give too much away -- you'll have to read and find out :)
