How do you stay focused on writing your book? Do you ever get distracted?

Of course--I'm pretty sure every author battles distractions, between the internet, life responsibilities, and those shiny new ideas we're always getting that beg us to get started on them instead of finishing what we're working on.
For me, the "staying focused" thing gets a bit easier since I have contractual obligations requiring me to not let myself get distracted. But some days I still have to turn off my WiFi, or close myself in my office alone, or make rigid To Do lists to make it clear what my priorities need to be. Daily word count goals help a lot too, because then I can give myself permission to work on something else or take a break once I hit them.

Not sure if this qualifies as a question? However... I like how you talk about your characters outside of the novels or parts of their lives which may not have been protrayed within the context. You make them sound real, and they are real, if only in our hearts.
