One of the characters, Adam, was based on my own AIDS buddy in the early 90s and everything that happened to Adam in the book really happened in real life. The book is a tribute to my buddy, Jim. Does it surprise you that so many straight females have become fans of the mm romance genre as of late? Personally I think we as romance readers became disillusioned with the unrealistic portrayal of sex in MF books, it became ridiculous and we knew that from experience LOL.
