? Wanted to send you a note to say how much I have enjoyed the Vorkosigan saga. My husband introduced me to Shards of Honor, and I fell in love with your writing style and the characters. We just got a new puppy this weekend and named him Ivan. My husband wanted to be able to yell, "That idiot Ivan!" when the dog does something. Thought it was a perfect name for a lovable pup that will inevitably become a scapegoat.

Good luck with your puppy!
bests, Lois.
(PS, Persons who want to send brief personal messages can also do so through Goodreads' own message/e-mail system. So far, I've only used mine to answer, not to initiate, but it doesn't seem to be too opaque, though it may have other quirks of which I am still unaware.)

I'm a survivor of an abusive marriage. Reading about Ekaterin has really helped me. I like how Miles grew when his parents urged him to take accountability for harming Ekaterin in The Civil Campaign. Yet, in their married life, I see him subsuming Ekaterin in just the way Kareen Koudelka was concerned about (when explaining her preference for Mark over Miles). Will you write more about the Miles/Ekaterin marriage?

My apologies if this is too personal a question.. I have read a majority of your books and just finished reading Penric's hardcover editions and re-reading the rest of the World of Five Gods series...and I notice a recurring theme of older/younger romances. Betriz/Cazaril Fawn/Dag even Penric and Desdemona. Drawing from personal experience or drawn to that dymamic for purely the tension it adds?
