Goodreads asked R.A. Carter-Squire:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

R.A. Carter-Squire I tell everyone who says to me, "I couldn't write a book" that you have to start. Put that first word on the page, on a computer or with pen in hand, but do it. Worry about how good you are after finishing the first draft. The fear of failure is what keeps most people from becoming a writer. They think they need to be perfect from the first letter and that just isn't true. Go for it.
