Do you have any plans, ideas for writing next Riyria book after realeasing the new Chronicles story later this year?
Michael J. Sullivan
Hey Adrianna,
Thanks for stopping by and asking a question. I do have more story ideas for Royce and Hadrian. Each time I write I expand my knowledge of what they have done and that opens doors to all kinds of adventures that for the most part I only know about (to provide context and background) but that generally means a nice piece I could go into more detail on.
Since starting the series, I've always said that there could be up to 12 stories (one for each year they were together) and I have at least that many (and more come to me all the time). How many where there actually be? No idea. I don't want to put too much effort into them (other than jotting down ideas and scenes that come to me), in case they aren't written.
My plan is to release a book, see if the two have overstayed their welcome, if not, then release another one. I'll keep rinsing and repeating until I get the impression that the desire for more has faded. As I've mentioned before, I'd rather have them leave too soon then linger too long.
Bottom line...if the readers are still find them interesting, then by all means I do as well and would like to continue stories with them.

Hi, Michael! I really really love your books as they have gotten me through some very tough times and have provided a nice, healthy escape to. Anyways, I was wondering if there were any plans to bring the audiobook versions of The Rise and Fall to the dramatization format that Legends and Riyria got? I love experiencing the books with actors in addition to the sound effects and narrator. Anyways, thank you!

Hi, Michael! I loved Age of Myth and am looking forward to reading your other books. Do you have any advice on world-building? I am writing a fantasy novel and while a lot of people I know find it fun, it's kind of intimidating! Do you plan out the history, world, and cultures in your books before you start writing? Or do you write first and see where that takes you? Thanks!
