What is your advice for younger writer and others who wants to get started to write their own books ?
Shelly Crane
Hi, Armani!
Do just that! Get started! You're never to young to start writing. Even if it's just for you and no one ever sees it, or just your mom or your friends, writing is great practice for more writing. Every book I write I feel like my writing gets better. And yours will, too. Plus, if you want to be a writer, then you should want to write, it should be something that is in your veins, screaming to get out.
So go be a writer! Of course, I recommend you read. I can't imagine anyone who wants to be a writer who isn't a reader, but if you're not, you need to start. Reading other's work helps you become a better writer because you learn the techniques and see the do's and don'ts and what works and what doesn't. If you read something in a novel and say, "That is pretty ridiculous," you would know that kind of setting or even something someone said that was flat or didn't flow well, you can see the way a novel is laid out sometimes better than you can see it on you own. NOT to take ideas, of course, but purely for format and structure purposes.
So get to reading and get to writing! Let people read it in your life and make them tell you honestly what they think. Depending on how old you are, it would be up to you what you decided on for publishing after that, but you can't decide if you don't have anything to publish to begin with ;)
Best wishes and happy endings,
Shelly Crane

Hi Shelly - I just love your books and writing! You really create such wonderful stories. I have read the devoured series in full and parts of both Significance & Collide - I was wondering if you are planning on doing a boxset for either? I know I will keep rereading them and I its easier to pull them up all as 1 (if u are going to release one..) Keep the great stories coming!!!!! :)
